It is entirely possible that you are reading this after Black Friday shopping. If so, I am sorry, and thank you for picking Autumn Bay as your come-down entertainment of choice. :)

You may have noticed a few references to the Unwanted here and there, especially in the last page. Now you know who and what they are.

So what do you suppose is going on in that last panel? :)

Related Comics:
The Unwanted
Some gang graffiti and the first appearance of Frank Logan
"that glow" (and yes, this is happening at around the same time...)

Don't go into the light Ghoul!

Well it's 0515 over here so I'm off to work.

DEATH KITTENS 4 LIFE

I mean, no offense to the Unwanted, but Death Kittens? They look adorable.
Professor Etheric 27th Nov 2015, 12:49 AM edit delete reply
Professor Etheric
It's hard to see, but it's actually "Death Kitties", from Pow! Right in the Nostalgia (which is a very fun comic).

Funny story: the creator of PRITN put out a contest to design members of the band (the singer is the little sister of the male lead). My design for the second guitarist won the contest (she's the fourth character from the left on the picture there). :)

I'm gonna re-post this here...
For those trying to fill their gang-tag-bingo card, we've seen:
The Unwanted
The Riverside Rangers (RR)
The Furies
The Jacks (the jack-o-lantern)
Saturday's Children (the skull with top-hat).
The New Revolution's Knights (NRK)
The Kings (crown)
The Protectorate (blue fist)
The Boo Bitches (black cat)

Grinning hat guy will show up again?

"Island of misfit toys" xD
I wonder what he means with "better"..
Professor Etheric 27th Nov 2015, 1:48 PM edit delete reply
Professor Etheric
Yes, yes he will. :)

"Island of Misfit Toys" is a very succinct way to describe them.

The word maybe should have been "nicer", "more wholesome", or "less nasty"...
Audacity 27th Nov 2015, 4:17 PM edit delete reply
A 'more wholesome' Autumn Bay gang. Wow that is putting some images in my head. The same images I get when I hear 'Fighting Trousers' by Gentleman B (I think that's the name of the dude who does that song) :-/
Audacity 27th Nov 2015, 4:19 PM edit delete reply
Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer?

Lou Graham?
SarahSophia 27th Nov 2015, 5:14 PM edit delete reply
SarahSophia
Well, you know, in comparison to the AHY or NRK the Unwanted IS "more wholesome".
Audacity 27th Nov 2015, 7:07 PM edit delete reply
That is absolutely true. One of the nastier creations in AB.

You know, there's a particular scene that springs to mind when I listen to Professor Elemental/Mr. B songs. It is an image of a boxing match that I fondly think of as the Battle of the White and Pasties

Oh lord... THAT...
Professor Etheric 27th Nov 2015, 6:23 PM edit delete reply
Professor Etheric
Ah, no. It is Mr. B's rival, Professor Elemental, who does "Figting Trousers" (and a good number of other songs on my AB playlist. Mr. B does "All Hail the Chap". :)

D'oh! Once again my attempt to be cool has been cruelly thwarted by my brain. Still, brain-farts aside, we are still musically synced, yes? :-P

Since you ended that comment with a question mark, I shall take that as a sign to list a few of the bands that have made their way into my Autumn Bay playlists.
For instance, Voltaire? Specifically 'When You're Evil'
Or Abney Park 'Airship Pirates' among quite a few others.
And so very recently I have gone about the Trance way with DoubleV and Formal (maybe that's the name?) Tortuga.
Delta-v 27th Nov 2015, 11:42 PM edit delete reply
Are we going to find out how Ghoul's nickname came about, or is it just a "given"? ^^
Professor Etheric 27th Nov 2015, 11:49 PM edit delete reply
Professor Etheric
It may, eventually, come up, but not in what we have done.

Basically, Pogo gave it to him because he's "a creepy damn ghoul with all those damn bones and stuff".
Delta-v 28th Nov 2015, 9:10 PM edit delete reply
Oh, come on. A lot of the kids in high school wear more creepy bone stuff than Ghoul does--and the boys are even worse! :)

Not a bad mish-mash of lines to make a motto out of, if I do say so myself.
I read the "Furies" graffiti as "Furries" at first. And my first thought was, that must be one of less-than-better gangs.
Professor Etheric 28th Nov 2015, 2:48 AM edit delete reply
Professor Etheric
LOL

Thanks! And now I can't get the image of a gang of fur-suited ruffians harassing people on the streets of Autumn Bay out of my head... Thank you for that, Melaredblu... :P
lirvilas 28th Nov 2015, 4:40 AM edit delete reply

"Fur-suited ruffians"?

That would be pretty scary, worse than dudes in clown masks...

Don't do it, Prof.

Professor Etheric
You know as well as I do that I will only do what is best for the story.

If I find myself in the (highly unlikely) position that THAT is what's best for the story... :P

Fergus stood in front of the mirror, facing the stranger within the grungy glass. The bare lightbulb behind him cast an uneven light throughout the room, bouncing off of the mirror and deepening the shadows that devored the corners.
"I don't know you," Fergus said to the stranger. "I wish I did, but I don't know anyone anymore."
The stranger couldn't respond, save for the sorrow that filled his eyes. The sorrow that came from looking at a cause that had long been lost. 'Please don't do this,' the eyes seemed to say.
"I don't do this because I want to," Fergus replied. "I do this because it has to be done."
'No! You have a choice! You can walk away! You can be free!'
"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose," Fergus said, quoting the lamented Janis. "In that way, I am already free."
'But-'
Fergus had reached the end of his forbearance. He grabbed the mask and settled it over his head, the tiger gobbling up the last of the stranger. The tiger grinned, the stranger screamed.
Fergus turned away from the mirror. His work would start tonight.

Are you TRYING to make me look bad here? :P
Audacity 29th Nov 2015, 11:38 AM edit delete reply

There isn't a chance in hell that I could ever make you look bad, even if I were to try. :-P

This scene just popped into my head as an answer to a question nobody asked. If a Furrie gang was roaming the streets of Autumn Bay, who would lead it?

One of the Deathstalker series. There was a planet devoted to allowing people to relive their childhood, using giant animated toys. Until a rogue AI came in and altered them to want to destroy humanity.
