It is entirely possible that you are reading this after Black Friday shopping. If so, I am sorry, and thank you for picking Autumn Bay as your come-down entertainment of choice. :)
You may have noticed a few references to the Unwanted here and there, especially in the last page. Now you know who and what they are.
So what do you suppose is going on in that last panel? :)
Funny story: the creator of PRITN put out a contest to design members of the band (the singer is the little sister of the male lead). My design for the second guitarist won the contest (she's the fourth character from the left on the picture there). :)
I'm gonna re-post this here...
For those trying to fill their gang-tag-bingo card, we've seen:
The Unwanted
The Riverside Rangers (RR)
The Furies
The Jacks (the jack-o-lantern)
Saturday's Children (the skull with top-hat).
The New Revolution's Knights (NRK)
The Kings (crown)
The Protectorate (blue fist)
The Boo Bitches (black cat)
A 'more wholesome' Autumn Bay gang. Wow that is putting some images in my head. The same images I get when I hear 'Fighting Trousers' by Gentleman B (I think that's the name of the dude who does that song) :-/
You know, there's a particular scene that springs to mind when I listen to Professor Elemental/Mr. B songs. It is an image of a boxing match that I fondly think of as the Battle of the White and Pasties
Ah, no. It is Mr. B's rival, Professor Elemental, who does "Figting Trousers" (and a good number of other songs on my AB playlist. Mr. B does "All Hail the Chap". :)
Since you ended that comment with a question mark, I shall take that as a sign to list a few of the bands that have made their way into my Autumn Bay playlists.
For instance, Voltaire? Specifically 'When You're Evil'
Or Abney Park 'Airship Pirates' among quite a few others.
And so very recently I have gone about the Trance way with DoubleV and Formal (maybe that's the name?) Tortuga.
Not a bad mish-mash of lines to make a motto out of, if I do say so myself.
I read the "Furies" graffiti as "Furries" at first. And my first thought was, that must be one of less-than-better gangs.
Thanks! And now I can't get the image of a gang of fur-suited ruffians harassing people on the streets of Autumn Bay out of my head... Thank you for that, Melaredblu... :P
Fergus stood in front of the mirror, facing the stranger within the grungy glass. The bare lightbulb behind him cast an uneven light throughout the room, bouncing off of the mirror and deepening the shadows that devored the corners.
"I don't know you," Fergus said to the stranger. "I wish I did, but I don't know anyone anymore."
The stranger couldn't respond, save for the sorrow that filled his eyes. The sorrow that came from looking at a cause that had long been lost. 'Please don't do this,' the eyes seemed to say.
"I don't do this because I want to," Fergus replied. "I do this because it has to be done."
'No! You have a choice! You can walk away! You can be free!'
"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose," Fergus said, quoting the lamented Janis. "In that way, I am already free."
'But-'
Fergus had reached the end of his forbearance. He grabbed the mask and settled it over his head, the tiger gobbling up the last of the stranger. The tiger grinned, the stranger screamed.
Fergus turned away from the mirror. His work would start tonight.
There isn't a chance in hell that I could ever make you look bad, even if I were to try. :-P
This scene just popped into my head as an answer to a question nobody asked. If a Furrie gang was roaming the streets of Autumn Bay, who would lead it?
One of the Deathstalker series. There was a planet devoted to allowing people to relive their childhood, using giant animated toys. Until a rogue AI came in and altered them to want to destroy humanity.
Well it's 0515 over here so I'm off to work.
(Good luck at work, sir.)
I mean, no offense to the Unwanted, but Death Kittens? They look adorable.

Ahhh, I love that motto. That's awesome.:D

"Island of misfit toys" xD
I wonder what he means with "better"..
"Island of Misfit Toys" is a very succinct way to describe them.
The word maybe should have been "nicer", "more wholesome", or "less nasty"...
Lou Graham?

Basically, Pogo gave it to him because he's "a creepy damn ghoul with all those damn bones and stuff".

That would be pretty scary, worse than dudes in clown masks...
Don't do it, Prof.
If I find myself in the (highly unlikely) position that THAT is what's best for the story... :P

We have certainly had a good bit of influence from MCR...
